Student Pugwash USA is finalizing our slate of programs launching with the 2018–2019 academic year. At this time, we are launching or considering the following programs:

  • Creation for the first time of a general membership program, promoting the goals of Student Pugwash among "older no-longer students," bringing our mission to the public, and raising resources for our core student educational mission.
  • Active support of our current chapters at Arizona State University, Carnegie Mellon University, and Purdue University; encouragement and support of students elsewhere wishing to form new recognized chapters at their institutions, and recruitment of students at other schools to do likewise.
  • Promotion of regional "ad hoc chapters" among general members and students to create cross-generational discussion and mentorship opportunities.
  • Development of our private online membership spaces for all members to organize, coordinate, professionally network, and discuss Pugwash topics.
  • Planning our national conference, slated for summer 2019.
  • Creating and funding a student competition to send students to the ISODARCO international security seminar in Andalo, Italy, in January 2019.
  • Partnerships and coalitions with like-minded scientific organizations, to provide our members with opportunities and events beyond what we create, and to bring the Pugwash mission to other groups.
  • Support of the international Pugwash and Student Pugwash network.
