2007 Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference

"Ethics of Emerging Technologies"

Carnegie Mellon University , March 30-31, 2007

Thank you to all who made this conference a success! Please check back soon for pictures and powerpoint presentations.

Though many emerging technologies promise great benefit to society, some pose unresolved ethical and social dilemmas that require further examination and debate by citizens and scientists.
What ethical guidelines should scientists abide by when using human test subjects in genomics research? Should research ever be restricted to prevent technologies from falling into the wrong hands? How can emerging technologies best be managed to ensure maximum benefit to society?

General Registration fee: $10
